FedEx appoints Vishal Talwar as Executive Vice President, Chief Digital & Information Officer, and President of FedEx Dataworks

FedEx Corp. announced on August 12, 2025, that Vishal Talwar has been appointed as Executive Vice President, Chief Digital and Information Officer (CDIO), and President of FedEx Dataworks, with his role becoming effective on August 15—marking a significant leadership milestone for the global logistics company.

Talwar brings more than 27 years of technology leadership to FedEx. He previously served as Senior Managing Director and Chief Growth Officer at Accenture Technology and has worked extensively with FedEx’s digital initiatives through that advisory role.

His seasoned background spans data science, enterprise-scale digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and cloud-driven transformation across organizations like IBM and Dell Services.

In his expanded position, Talwar will be responsible for advancing FedEx’s digital strategy. He will oversee initiatives leveraging data, AI, advanced enterprise architecture, digital technology, and cybersecurity, with senior leaders from the company’s Data and Technology and Dataworks teams reporting directly to him.

Raj Subramaniam, President and CEO of FedEx, expressed his enthusiasm for the appointment, calling Talwar a seasoned technology leader whose experience will be “instrumental as we continue to advance our long‑term strategy and harness the full potential of FedEx intelligence”.

Talwar, for his part, stated that he is honored to join FedEx at a “transformative period,” emphasizing the role of AI and data in making supply chains smarter and expressing confidence in FedEx’s future direction.

This appointment comes as FedEx—reporting annual revenue of approximately $88 billion and employing over half a million globally—is pushing forward on its goals of innovation and sustainability, including achieving carbon-neutral operations by 2040.
