More than 125 founders, venture capital investors and startup operators attended the curated gathering, which focused primarily on companies from pre-seed through Series B.
American South Asian Network (ASAN), Pilot, Reitler Law, and Physical Fund hosted the sold-out event on July 23 in Santa Monica, California.
The informal format gave participants an opportunity to connect outside a traditional pitch event or conference setting. Conversations covered fundraising, company building, investor relationships, operational challenges and potential collaboration.
Founders met investors at different stages of the venture process while also connecting with peers navigating similar decisions around growth, capital and team building.
The event reached capacity several days in advance, with prospective attendees placed on a waitlist. Organizers said the response reflected strong demand for thoughtfully curated spaces where founders and investors can build relationships without the pressure of a formal pitch competition.
“The early-stage ecosystem is built on relationships, but many founders still struggle to access the right investors, advisers and peers at the right time,” said Dr. Nitin Bajaj, co-founder of ASAN. “Bringing more than 125 founders and investors together in one room makes those relationships more accessible and creates opportunities that rarely emerge through cold outreach alone.”
The mixer was hosted by Hannah Anderson, Jeffrey Koh, Mohini, Bajaj and Nima Ashraf, representing the organizing partners.
Pilot provides bookkeeping, tax and chief financial officer services for startups and small businesses.
Reitler Law advises startups, investors and emerging companies on venture financings and other corporate matters.
Physical Fund is an early-stage investment firm focused on physical artificial intelligence, robotics and automation.
American South Asian Network (ASAN) is the leading national nonprofit organization focused on connecting and advancing younger South Asians in the United States through community, leadership, mentorship, professional opportunity, representation and well-being.
Organizers said the gathering strengthened relationships across Los Angeles’ AAPI founder and venture capital community and created a foundation for future collaboration.
