ASAN brought together more than 100 South Asian leaders across climate technology, renewable energy, sustainable finance, investing, and public policy for a sold-out gathering during Climate Week NYC, underscoring the growing presence of South Asians across the climate economy.
Attendees included professionals from the World Bank and the New York State Department, climate-tech investors, founders, executives, operators, and others working at the intersection of capital, technology, policy, and sustainability.
The gathering created a rare opportunity for South Asians working across different corners of the climate ecosystem to meet, exchange ideas, and build relationships that can extend well beyond a single evening.
“It was great to see so many South Asians in climate tech come together because of ASAN,” said Leela of the World Bank.
Conversations throughout the evening covered climate investing, renewable energy, sustainable finance, emerging technologies, public policy, and the growing role of private capital in addressing climate challenges.
The diversity of the room reflected how broad the climate ecosystem has become. Investors met founders building new technologies. Finance professionals connected with operators and policymakers. People working within large institutions exchanged perspectives with entrepreneurs developing the next generation of climate solutions.
The event sold out, with more than 100 people ultimately joining the gathering during Climate Week NYC.
ASAN has now hosted more than 160 in-person events and has grown into a leading national platform for younger South Asians in the United States, creating opportunities across community, mentorship, professional growth, entrepreneurship, leadership, visibility, and strategic partnerships.
Upcoming programming includes South Asians in DeepTech, South Asians in Fashion, the ongoing Investor-Founder Connect series, and additional gatherings across industries and cities nationwide.
