150+ Gather at ASAN’s South Asian Collective, Connecting Talent Across Industries and Continents

From Apple, Disney, and Google to healthcare, journalism, fashion, climate technology, and entrepreneurship, ASAN’s San Francisco gathering brought together an expansive professional community.

More than 150 creators, entrepreneurs, investors, executives, and professionals filled the room for the American South Asian Network’s (ASAN) South Asian Collective during San Francisco Tech Week.

The gathering reflected a community whose professional interests, experiences, and ambitions extend across nearly every sector of the economy.

Participants included entrepreneurs building businesses in climate technology, fashion, and insurance, alongside investors, journalists, healthcare professionals, technology executives, and creative professionals.

A Community Spanning the United States and the World

Attendees represented major U.S. cities and states, with strong international participation from Canada, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Australia, India, and several other countries.

Companies represented included Apple, Disney, Uber, Kaiser Permanente, Sutter Health, Google, Business Insider, Waymo, Roblox, Amazon, Microsoft, and Meta, among others.

These affiliations illustrate the range of expertise represented in the room, spanning technology, entertainment, mobility, medicine, journalism, gaming, and entrepreneurship.

For ASAN, that diversity is central to building a community where people can discover opportunities beyond their immediate professional circles and geographical boundaries.

Connections Across Industries Create New Possibilities

An entrepreneur building an insurance company may benefit from meeting someone with experience at a major technology platform. A healthcare professional might discover an emerging opportunity through a conversation with an AI founder. A journalist may encounter a compelling story through someone working in climate technology.

The most valuable professional relationships frequently begin with conversations whose outcomes are impossible to predict.

South Asian Collective created an environment for those interactions by bringing together people across industries, generations, geographies, and career stages.

The gathering also offered a broader perspective on South Asian participation in the American economy. While technology and medicine remain important fields, the community includes professionals shaping entertainment, insurance, fashion, journalism, climate innovation, and numerous other industries.

Building Connections That Extend Beyond the Event

ASAN’s work focuses on connecting people to professional opportunities, mentorship, entrepreneurial resources, leadership development, and networks that can support long-term growth.

The strong attendance at South Asian Collective demonstrated demand for spaces where people can build those relationships across traditional professional boundaries.

With more than 150 attendees representing major American cities and multiple countries, the event reinforced the value of building a national community with global connections.

The gathering represented another step in ASAN’s effort to turn an expansive and accomplished community into a more connected source of opportunity.
