IXOPAY appoints Ajoy Krishnamoorthy as CEO

Indian-origin enterprise software executive Ajoy Krishnamoorthy has been appointed chief executive officer of IXOPAY, a global payment infrastructure company with operations in the United States. The appointment was announced on Aug. 25.

Krishnamoorthy brings more than two decades of experience in enterprise software, product engineering, strategy and business growth. He most recently served as CEO of Cin7, a cloud-based inventory management software company, after joining the organization as chief product officer in 2022.

Earlier in his career, Krishnamoorthy spent 10 years at Microsoft in product, strategy and marketing leadership roles. He later served as chief strategy officer and executive vice president of product at Acumatica, where he helped expand the cloud enterprise resource planning platform, its product portfolio and partner network.

At IXOPAY, Krishnamoorthy will lead the company as artificial intelligence begins to play a larger role in online commerce and payment operations. The company provides payment orchestration, tokenization and intelligence tools that help merchants connect with payment providers, manage transactions and respond to changes in customer behavior and fraud.

IXOPAY said its platform processed $171 billion in payment volume during 2025, secured more than 2.1 billion tokens and supported 1.6 million merchants through more than 500 payment adapters. Its customers include major companies in travel, logistics, retail and technology.

Krishnamoorthy succeeds Nord Samuelson, who served as interim CEO. IXOPAY board chairman Vik Verma said Krishnamoorthy’s technical background, global operating experience and customer-focused leadership will help merchants adapt as payments become more complex.

Krishnamoorthy earned an engineering degree from Manonmaniam Sundaranar University and a master’s degree from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, in India. He later earned an MBA from The Ohio State University and is based in Seattle.

His appointment places an experienced Indian-origin technology leader at the head of a company working at the intersection of payments, artificial intelligence and global commerce.
